The Scottish Business and International Trade report in 2020, produced by the Scottish Business Network in partnership with MOMENTOUS CHANGE LTD, gave invaluable insight into the opinions and experiences of Scots around the world and how to connect them and their businesses. This year, SBN will be working with Edinburgh Napier University to maximise on these findings and identify the opportunities for Scottish brands. As chair of Scottish Business Network I am fortunate to have met some of the most amazing Scottish entrepreneurs who work with clients across the globe and the myriad of senior execs based in every country you can imagine who can claim Scottish heritage - our diaspora.
Bringing these two groups together has become the passion of my life and one that I share with a growing group of incredible individuals who have accepted the position of Scottish Business Network Ambassador.
In 2020, in partnership with MOMENTOUS CHANGE LTD, we published the first-ever report capturing the views of Scots across the globe to better understand how best to link Scottish companies with the diaspora. The creation of the Ambassador network was just one of a number of deliverables from this research.
In 2023 we will be working in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University to build from our work in 2020, and the insight secured since to understand what new opportunities exist for Scottish companies in our post-COVID world.
Now here's the opportunity for you.
We are looking to work with a select group of Scottish brands who would like to expand their global footprint or perhaps take those initial steps to build a brand beyond Scotland through working with our diaspora on this project.
There are no sector restrictions though I would expect technology, pharma, education, services, tourism, and "Scottish-at-heart" to be the most popular.
The project has set the goal to engage with over 2,000 senior execs, founders, and investors working for some of the largest corporations and most existing companies in our world today based primarily in North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2020 we engaged with individuals based in over 70 countries hence when I say global I mean global :)
If this sounds like a project you would like to get involved in then simply drop me a note and I or a member of our team can brief you on how to get involved as a sponsor or partner.
