On 1, 4 and 5 April 2022, the Global Diaspora Summit will take stock of achievements vis-à-vis Objective 19 of the Global Compact for Migration and aims to ‘create a concise plan of visionary action to support the strategic development of diaspora engagement at a global level’.
Russell Dalgleish will moderate and contribute to the two-hour session on the Technical Working Group on Economic Capital.
“It is always a unique privilege when I have the opportunity to represent Scotland as I will at the Global Diaspora Summit in Dublin. Organised by the UN Institute of Migration we gather in Dublin and online with the support of the Irish government to debate, discuss and create as leading diaspora groups and government representatives. A huge amount of work has gone into preparing papers and research for this conference and I wish all involved an exciting few days.” – Russell Dalgleish, Moderator
The Global Diaspora Summit aims at delivering a collaborative vision and programme of progress for governments and other stakeholders through meaningful and structured dialogue with diaspora and transnational communities. The Summit will embrace the vision of whole of government and whole of society approaches to diaspora empowerment in order to give attendees the opportunity to robustly chart a new vision and agenda at the highest political level to enhance the importance of engaging with transnational communities as agents and accelerators of sustainable development.
