In his role as Chair of the Scottish Business Network, Russell joined a gathering of the Celtic Nations this month to discuss collaboration between members of this vast group in Europe. The concept of the Celtic Nations includes the peoples of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Galicia in Spain and this wasn't the first time that Russell attended such a unique and diverse event: Russell Dalgleish - News - Brittany France
"Last year I had the privilege to represent Scotland alongside my good friend Laurent Mélin-Quinn of Scottish Development International at the InterCeltic Business Forum in Lorient. This took place as part of the astonishing Festival Interceltique de Lorient which attracts over 700,000 attendees to the city over a few weeks. The team behind the event; Celine Jones, Charles Kergaravat, Dan Langford OBE and so many committed others, hope to use this gathering in Cardiff to forge an alliance which can lead to the generation of new Cultural and Commercial opportunities across the peoples of these regions and the globe." - Russell Dalgleish
Russell's commitment to initiatives such as this is purely voluntary and driven by his belief that it is through dialogue and collaboration that we can unleash new opportunities which will bring benefit to all. Here is a recap of what happened at this gathering of friends based on a common cultural heritage:
